About Consultant
Maria Matsiota has qualification as Mechanical Engineer (BSc) with specialization on Aerospace Propulsion (MSc). During, her so far career, she possesses accumulated experience ranging from technical engineering to Systems Analysis and Business Development as well as, undertaking coordinating roles with increased levels of responsibility.
Being positions such a Health and Safety Engineer, Aerodynamics Engineering Specialist, Systems Engineer for Defence and Aerospace projects and Business Development for Defence, Maria is an experienced Consultant on the execution of Aviation projects which require a strict schedule and performance baselines.
She has been author of Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance National Drone Strategy. Within the realm of ISO Certified Operations, Maria has been responsible for developing the Hellenic Ministry of Defence Industrial Safety Certification process for certain defence sector companies she has been consultant. She has also been the Editorial Director of 48th Engine Systems Symposium in UK.
Her most recent engineering involvement was on Remotely Piloted applications such as Technical Requirement specification for: Chilean Army forces Command support Division vehicle, Greece Fire, Search & Rescue Unit Fixed Wing VTOL RPAS, Nuclear Radiation Detection VTOL for Greece Police Directorate, Surveillance VTOL RPAS for Norwegian Defence Agency, and Surveillance VTOL RPAS for military surveillance for Bulgarian Defence Agency. She has also produced the airworthiness, engine and structural specification of a UCAV MALE system for an undisclosed defence company.
Within EU Research and Development activities she has been a Research Engineer regarding manned aviation projects on Supersonic flight noise reduction applications and Flight Recording avionics. Also, in EU projects regarding Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems (RPAS) for defence applications, such as EU EDF Artificial Intelligence Swarm for tactical operations and Sonobuoy Remotely Piloted System for underwater detection.
She is actively participating in professional trainings and seminars such as “Production Lines” from General Motors, “Industrial Engineering” from Group Sener, “Health and Safety” from Intracom Telecom, “Engine Overall Structure” from EASA, “Airframe Contraction” from Royal Aeronautical Society,” Gas Turbine Engines Evolution” from Cranfield University, the “Future of Exploration” from Lockheed Martin Space.
Maria is also, a Certified Professional on LEAN Six Sigma certified Professional from Council for Six Sigma Certification, Risk Assessment from TUV Nord, Software CAD application Autocad 2D Invetor 3D from Autodesk, Engineering Project Management from Rice University, Negotiation Essential Strategies and Skills from Michigan University.
